About the tour

Why our vegan food tour is the real deal

Belgrade is bursting with vibrant farmers markets, hip cafés, and inventive chefs who are rewriting Balkan dishes with plant-based flair, but until now there has been no single thread tying all those flavours together.

The Vegan Belgrade food tour is that long-awaited, coherent and authentic journey, crafted by local vegans. We are familiar with every secret menu, neighbourhood legend, and seasonal ingredient.

We spent months mapping out the city's fast-growing vegan restaurant scene in Belgrade, tasting dishes from a family-run falafel shop to a sleek riverfront bistro. This is why we were able to curate a lineup that feels like a narrative, not just a checklist.

Each stop on the tour tells a chapter of the city's evolving vegan scene, served with anecdotes about history, culture, and the passionate people behind the plates.

Our guides speak English, Serbian, and Russian, so whether you're a curious tourist, a local foodie hunting new spots, or an expat eager to taste the city you now call home, you'll feel instantly connected.

Frequently asked questions

Curious about the Vegan Belgrade Food Tour? Here are the details our guests ask us most often. Everything from walking distance to cancellation terms will be explained, and regular updates will be sent to our email list. If you still need an answer, feel free to contact us and our team will help.

How much does it cost and what is “early-bird pricing”?

Final rates will be announced to the people on the waitlist first. Early-bird pricing guarantees the lowest launch price plus a complimentary tasting flight with no hidden fees. You can always review the price before committing.

What exactly is included in the tour price?

One guided walk (~ 4 hours), all food and drink tastings at selected vegan venues, market samples, a take-home goodie bag, and digital recipes. Tips for guides and extra beverages are optional.

How far will we walk and is it strenuous?

The route covers between 3 and 4 km (2 - 2.5 mi) on mostly flat sidewalks. We move at a relaxed pace with plenty of seated breaks—comfortable for anyone with average mobility.

I'm not vegan. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Many guests are flexitarians or omnivores eager to explore Belgrade's plant-based scene. Expect generous portions and flavors designed to impress every palate.

I have allergies / need gluten-free options. Is that possible?

Yes. When you join the waitlist you'll receive a dietary form. We liaise with each kitchen to accommodate common allergies (nuts, soy, gluten) and intolerances. We'll confirm feasibility before you pay.

Which languages do the guides speak?

Every tour is led in English and Serbian. Our team also has a Russian-speaking guide

What is the cancellation or refund policy?

Full refunds are available up to 48 hours before the tour. Within 48 hours we try to resell your spot; if successful, you receive a full refund, otherwise 50 %. Bad-weather cancellations initiated by us are 100 % refundable.

What is the group size?

We cap each departure at 10 guests to keep conversations lively yet personal. Private tours for couples or corporate groups can be arranged on request. Please contact us for more information.

Can children join?

The tour is designed for adults (18 +), primarily because several stops serve alcoholic pairings. Families can book a private daytime tour without alcohol. Please contact us for more details.

What happens if it rains or snows?

The tour runs in most weather; indoor seating is reserved at every stop. If severe conditions make walking unsafe, we'll reschedule or refund in full.

Pilot tour testimonials

Before opening seats to the public, we hosted several private test runs with friends, family, and neighbors during April and May. Their feedback with equal parts enthusiasm and constructive critique guided every refinement we made. Each comment on pacing, portion size, or seating comfort is logged in our launch checklist, ensuring the final tour reflects real experiences.

Honestly, I tagged along for the company, but the vegan gibanica turned out to be my favourite pastry ever. I never imagined it could taste this good. If all plant-based food is like this, count me in!

Ana

Occasional meat-lover, on her first vegan tour

Great pacing and portions; I never felt rushed. Even a light spring rain in April couldn't ruin the vibe.

Marko

Local foodie friend

Loved the market sampling and the sarma remake! A bite-sized chocolate treat at the end of the meal would make everything perfect, but I guess I'll have to wait for the next tour.

Jelena

Friend with a sweet tooth

Came in skeptical, left with the idea of repeating the tour on a date night. Portions were exactly what you expect in Serbia, so be ready to leave happily stuffed. I wouldn't mind a short break between stops two and three.

Ivan

Office colleague, not vegan

The guides switched languages effortlessly, and I discovered some places I'd walked past for months. Thanks to this tour, I now have a way to find them again.

Natalia

Neighbour

The short stories from history were my favorite part of the tour. The walk was comfortable, and my knees are grateful for the bench stop halfway.

Mira

Family friend
